Tokyo Tower, Japan: Needle of Steel and Light
Heiwa
Tokyo Tower is Eiffel Tower on a diet: a little taller and a lot lighter. About 3,000 tons lighter. It’s the tallest steel tower in the world, and the tallest steel building in Japan - at least for now. On a clear day, it’s also a great place to view Tokyo’s steel jungle.
At the tower’s base are 4 stories of shops, restaurants, distractions, and attractions, including an aquarium, wax museum, believe-it-or-not museum, and trick art gallery. If you get hungry, you can eat soba noodles, curry, Chinese buffet, pizza, or McDonald’s.
